Preventive Drugs
Preventive drugs are generally prescribed for people at risk for certain diseases or conditions, not including drugs or medicines for treatment of an existing illness or condition. When possible, generic alternatives and mail order can save you money, without sacrificing quality. Speak to your doctor about available generic alternatives if you are currently receiving a brand medication.
If you enroll in Medical Plan Option C, you do not need to meet your annual deductible before preventive drugs are covered by the Plan and the out-of-pocket cost for your preventive medications will apply only towards your out-of-pocket maximum amount.
